Plumbing repairs
What to send first
- 1
Where is the leak, and can you see the pipe or fitting it is coming from?
- 2
Have you been able to turn the water off at the stopcock?
A leak rarely fixes itself, and water can do a lot of damage under floors and inside walls before you see it. Andrew traces where the water is coming from, makes the repair and checks the rest of the pipe run while he is there.
Repairs we handle
That includes weeping compression joints, pinhole leaks in copper pipe, split or frozen pipes, leaking radiator valves, a stopcock that will not turn or will not shut off fully, and isolation valves that have seized. Damaged sections of pipe are cut out and replaced rather than patched.
Leaks you cannot see
Damp patches on a ceiling, a water meter that keeps turning with everything off, or a boiler that keeps losing pressure can all mean a hidden leak. If the pressure drop is on the heating side, it may come under heating repairs. Everyday jobs on taps and toilets sit under taps, toilets and showers.
